Winter Wool Spinning Immersion Course
Sunday 27th October, 10th November and 1st December 2024 from 12.30 – 4.30 pm
Join textile artist Alexandra Juliette for a winter wool spinning immersion course. Over the course of three sessions, spaced out throughout the season, you will be guided through the process of turning a shorn sheep fleece, straight from the farm, into hand-spun yarn that you can use in your crafting practice.
Humans have been spinning threads for tool and garment making for 20,000 years, making it one of the oldest and most valued crafts. Spinning was not only a method of cloth production but a way to bring together community and weave magic into garments.
You will learn in a small group with hands-on tuition, all materials
will be provided.
